2SLGBTQIA+ Students

Highlights

Western University

HIGHLIGHT: Queering Engineering Conference saw high school and university students come together for a day of education, fun, and allyship!

University of Waterloo

HIGHLIGHT:Waterloo Engineering Outreach has collaborated with EngiQueers students at UWaterloo to attend two youth groups run by OK2BME, a program operated by Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health, for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth. The evenings included hands-on STEM activities and the sharing of the EngiQueers students’ university experiences. 

Ontario Tech University

HIGHLIGHT:At the 2024 Youth Pride Festival in Durham Region, Ontario Tech Engineering Outreach hosted an interactive booth featuring hands-on STEM activities, including Morse code bracelet making, crafting paper helicopters, and a “grow your own rainbow” experiment.  Attendees of all ages engaged in these exciting activities alongside a Pride Scavenger hunt, learning more about the history of Pride and significance of diversity in STEM!
